Israeli Company’s Micro-Suicide Drone Swarms Can Hunt Enemies in Urban Combat

Elbit Systems is one of Israel’s three largest defense companies, and its new drone, Lanius, can scout and map buildings, flying around small corridors and through doorways, and it can carry lethal or non-lethal payloads. This model has both surveillance and attack capabilities. A drone ‘mother ship’ can dispatch several Lanius that can identify and swarm enemy targets. There is a concern over remote warfare that can make militaries less accountable or can lead to mistakes. In addition, remote warfare via the push of a button can turn it into something that looks more like a video game and can diminish the reality of killing humans.
