Monica Cannon-Grant and her husband, Clark Grant, the founders of Violence In Boston, and prominent leaders in the Black Lives Matter Movement were charged with 18 federal counts of fraud in 2022. This week the pair were charged with an additional nine counts according to the Department of Justice Thursday.
As reported by The Blaze, the couple founded their own non-profit organization Violence In Boston or VIB in 2017 with the goal of “reducing violence, raising social awareness, and aiding community causes in Boston,” citing NECN, a Boston NBC affiliate.
VIB reportedly partnered with Black Lives Matter extensively in the years that followed, particularly in 2020. VIB and BLM jointly organized a Boston demonstration for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
